Fuel awareness talk
With winters getting colder and fuel becoming more expensive we could all benefit from saving some money on our fuel bills. This is especially true if you, or someone you know is living with a cancer diagnosis.
With this in mind Maggie’s Lanarkshire is hosting fuel awareness talk on Wednesday 29th February 12.30-13.30pm. A light lunch will be provided prior to the talk at 12md. The speaker will be Lynn, a welfare rights officer, who will focus on raising awareness around methods of payment, tariffs, the warm home discount grant and the best deals available.
Lynn said, “It can be a bit of a minefield trying to find the right fuel company and tariff to suit you and your circumstances. This talk will help people find what tariff they should be on, the best way for them to be paying and if there is extra assistance available to help towards paying fuel bills and keeping warm this winter”
Kirsty Gill Cancer support Specialist at Maggie’s said, “Although this session differs from our regular programme at Maggie’s, I’m sure the information will be just as valuable to those affected by cancer”.
Maggie’s Lanarkshire is a homely, welcoming place where people with cancer, their family and friends can receive the support they need. Maggie’s is open for people to drop-in for information, emotional and psychological support and to develop skills that might help them to live more positively with their cancer.
For more information or to book a place for the talk, please drop into Maggie’s Lanarkshire beside Wishaw General Hospital on weekdays from 9am – 5pm, call on 01698 358 392 or email lanarkshire@maggiescentres.org
