Summer officially arrived in East Edinburgh on Sunday 18 July as residents in the Duddingston, Joppa and Jewel area of the city celebrated winning a huge £2.2 million prize pot in People's Postcode Lottery Summer Rollover.

The fortune, shared by players in the EH15 3 postcode area, saw hundreds of locals and ecstatic winners gather in the capital’s Jewel Park to celebrate the win.

X Factor favourite Stacey Solomon caused huge excitement when she took to the stage to perform an exclusive live set, saying: “I’m so proud to be here. I ‘m honoured to be a part of these celebrations”.

But it was the revelation that two neighbours were to share over £800,000 between them that really stole the show.

“It was great to be there to celebrate People's Postcode Lottery Summer Rollover and to see the absolute shock and delight on the winners' faces,” said Maggie's Head of Corporate & Events, Tamsin Fraser.

Presenter and TV favourite Angus Purden expressed his thanks to locals, saying: “A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us make today special. And congratulations to all our winners! Local charities benefiting from People's Postcode Lottery include Maggie’s, CHILDREN 1ST and Scottish Wildlife Trust. Over £5.8 million has been raised for charities in Scotland to date.
